I have a great, exciting project in mind, which I plan to execute as soon as my two kids leave for a two-week long summer camp organized by our church. My two older kids, 12 and 10, respectively, have their own bedroom now, which was formerly a play room now converted into their cozy sanctuary.

My girls have practically the same taste, and are fond of more or less the same things and subject matter. They both love rainforests or safari-type scenery, and at the same time, have this great interest for animals. I am thinking of designing their bedroom in either theme and I know they will be just as ecstatic.

My eldest loves to read. She has a collection of books seemingly so huge a collection for so young an age. She dreams of someday having a library as huge as that of Beast in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast animation movie. My second child also loves to read, and holds a considerable book collection of her own. I am likewise thinking of setting up that one corner of the room as a mini-library, with bookshelves filled with books and two couches for my little bookworms.

If I go through with the rainforest-safari theme, I will have to paint their bedroom in earth colors, and get that mattress set with jungle theme that I saw online, for matching bed accessories. I also remember having seen in that same online shop, a couch with leaf and animal paw prints accents. That will look perfect with this set-up!

The center of their room will have to be decorated with an area rug. There are numerous area rugs that are available online, with designs and colors that will definitely suit my ideas for the kids’ bedroom. These rugs come in all sizes, shapes and designs, and surely one will be perfect for my lovely daughters’ cozy sanctuary.
