Getting rid of an asset may take several ways. I have a boat that is no longer of use to me, and I’m thinking of selling it, or simply throwing it away. But selling it entails a lot of work. It may even require an additional expense like advertising, and the necessary improvement expense for an asset to be sold at a reasonable price. So donating an asset seems to be the most practical way of getting rid of it. It would not require any expense and it is almost effortless on the part of the donor.
